The old lighting scheme at Holy Trinity was a typical 1960’s installation with large GLS 500 watt reflector placed on the main truss beams some 12 meters from ground level. The electrical installation had also failed showing that the wiring had perished due to age.

The PCC were adamant that the new lighting scheme would not effect the large open space that the church has\in the nave and chancel.
The design incorporated up and down wall washers with built in asymmetric reflectors to push the light out in to the middle of the nave and to introduce uplighting as well.

A new Dais is planned in 2008, therefore directional lighting was required controlled by a number of dimming circuits to highlight various areas over the dais providing a number of zones to make sure the lighting was very flexible for the number of services and functions.
Emergency lighting was introduced throughout the worship area and vestry areas.

The sanctuary lighting spots were also installed on a timer circuit on the lighting system. The Sanctuary can clearly been seen by people passing the west end of the church through glass west end doors. The effect was very successful.
