The existing lighting at St Philips was very
poor with many of the old wall washers failing
due to age and heat issues. There were a large
number of areas that were in dark and reading
during the church services was very difficult.
We were asked to design a very flexible economical
scheme. We were able to come up with a scheme
that suited the parish and one that has been
very successful.
We introduced uplighting for the fist time to
the nave and chancel ceilings, which now provide
a wonderful ambiance and also makes the church
feel very warm.
A pre-set modern dimming system was installed
providing a number of scenes for services, functions
and visitors to the church.
The lighting to the worship area is energy efficient
by installing energy efficient lamps and the
installation of the pre-set dimming system.
Low energy luminaries with emergency lighting
were installed into the vestry areas.

Emergency lighting was renewed in the nave and
south aisle.
The existing west end store rooms and porch
were also linked into the dimmer system to provide
total isolation for these areas when the panel
control is turned off.
St Philips Church is Grade II Listed.
