Church Lighting - Periodic Test and Inspection of the entire electrical system

Periodic Test and Inspection of the entire electrical system

All churches are to have the electrical systems tested periodically to determine that the existing system is safe and compliant (see regulations below). By using CES for your testing and inspection, you will have a registered electrical specialist, able to give professional and competent and impartial electrical advice.

Our reports are specially designed for those who are responsible for the upkeep of the building so we can assist them in having a greater understanding of the electrical system.

We work towards developing a relationship with the church so that we can look after all the electrical needs within the church. The test and inspection will include:-

Periodic Test and Inspection of the entire electrical system

  • Schedule of test results. Including distribution board schedules of each circuit.
  • Schedule of inspection. This is a detailed description of observations found, The items are all coded so that you can determine the difference on each item and the importance/need of rectifying.
  • A costing for each observation so that you can see how much work is involved in rectifying the non-compliant issue.
  • A Schematic of the electrical system layout.

Please contact us for a quotation and prediction on how long the testing process will take.

The test and inspection report can be carried out as part of the 'Quinquennial Inspections'.

Requirments by Law.

Electricity at Work Regulations 1989; precautions must be taken against the risk of death or personal injury from electricity at work activities.

It is therefore important to keep a record of the condition of electrical systems and help to fulfil obligations to the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

The electrical system should comply with the IEE Wiring Regulations BS 7671- the national standards to which all industrial and domestic wiring must now conform.

The Regulations are produced by the IET, fully known as the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
The guidance states that all electrical installations should be tested and inspected periodically,
